PROFESSIONAL SHEARS FROM

A CENTURIES-OLD TRADITION

OF JAPANESE STEEL

Finely balanced, perfectly tensioned, and sharp for what seems like a lifetime,

KASHO Japanese steel shears are as beautiful as they are functional.

We strongly believe KASHO are the finest hair cutting shears you’ll ever

encounter—and we feel you’ll think so, too.

Quality you can feel in your hand—and appreciate with every cut. KASHO

is where hundreds of years of traditional Japanese steel-making meets

21st-century technology.

Every pair of KASHO professional cutting shears is 100% made in Japan,

using 100% genuine Japanese materials and parts. The result is incredibly

long-term sharpness and hardness. This means that they will cut longer and

you will spend less time having them sharpened. Each pair comes with

a lifetime guarantee, to be free of manufacturing defects.

Every pair of Kasho

shears is forged,

meaning compression

forces are used to

press the molecules

closer together.

This creates a more

durable metal with a

longer lasting edge.

The inner blade of every

pair of Kasho shears is

honed to the point that

the blades only touch at

the point of intersection.

This allows for a precise

cut, reduction in cutting

edge resistance and a

significant reduction in

hand fatigue for the

stylist or barber.

Kasho shears feature a

convex edge, which is

created through a more

labour intensive and detailed

process. This produces a

smoother and more precise

cutting experience and very

sharp edge, which requires

less user force when

cutting and allows for more

advanced cutting techniques.

The finest professional shears money can buy.

THE KASHO DIFFERENCE

FUN FACT

ULTIMATE EDGE

Kasho scissors feature two different stainless steel alloys in order

to meet the high Japanese quality demands for sharpness and

material. The combination of different hardness grades means that

every pair of scissors is perfectly balanced and guarantees that the

cutting edge is exceptionally durable.

The unique "Ultimate Edge" Kasho scissor blades guarantee that

they are a pleasure to work with and cut accurately. The unique

manufacturing process ensures the necessary precision of the

concave inner surfaces (hollow ground) and convex outer surfaces

of the scissor blades. These blades are honed to an extremely

sharp state with the inner side hollowed to such a point that the

blades only touch at the point of intersection.

This refined technology ensures superb cutting edge durability,

while at the same time reducing cutting edge resistance to a

minimum and thus considerably limiting hand fatigue.

HANDLE CONFIGURATION

Kasho Scissors are made in different handle configurations - super

offset, offset and straight. With the super offset handle, you can work with

your shoulders straight and elbow down, using minimal wrist movements. The

semi-offset is a comfortable compromise between the super offset and straight

models. When working with the semi-offset or super offset models, the shoulders

remain straight and the elbows are not raised, putting far less strain on the wrist.

Each pair of KASHO shears reflects impeccable form, finish and function.

Today, every pair of KASHO shears is created through careful design and

engineering with advanced materials and heat-treatment technology - and the blending

of an integrated manufacturing process with skillful workmanship which measures up to the

unrelenting standards passed through generations of the Japanese Samurai sword smithies.

FUN FACT

Every pair of Kasho shears is forged, meaning compression forces are

used to press the molecules closer together. This creates a more durable

metal with a longer lasting edge.

THE KASHO DIFFERENCE

PATENTED DISC OPERATION SYSTEM

The patented Disc Operation System ensures that the KASHO

Millennium and XP Series are always perfectly tensioned.

This sophisticated screw system consists of an enclosed ball

bearing unit, a special spring and a synthetic disc that ensures

uniform pressure and incredibly smooth operation. The enclosed

ball bearing is free from collecting hair, dust and other substances

so that nothing may affect the precise movement of the scissors,

whilst the synthetic disc between the upper and lower blades

minimises friction and wear of the blades. Thanks to this complex

Disc Operation System with a replaceable synthetic disc the

Millennium and the XP-Series have a considerably longer life span

than any conventional models.

DIAMOND-LIKE-CARBON (DLC) COATING

Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) coating displays properties similar to

those of natural diamond, including hardness, wear resistance and

reduced friction.

Furthermore, the DLC coating is well known to provide protection

resistance to chemical compounds and has been found to be

hypoallergenic for those who suffer from Nickel allergies.

DLC Coating is only available on the Damascus 6.0” Offset shear,

Millenium 6.5” Offset shear and Silver Series 6.0” offset shear.”

KASHO handcrafted Professional Shears are the crowning

achievement of the "shisho", a highly skilled craftsman who

proudly engraves his shears with the KASHO mark.

FUN FACT

The inner blade of every pair of Kasho shears is honed to the point that the

blades only touch at the point of intersection. This allows for a precise cut,

reduction in cutting edge resistance and a significant reduction in hand

fatigue for the stylist or barber allows for more advanced cutting techniques.

STEEL TYPE AND ROCKWELL HARDNESS

Rockwell Hardness-

The Rockwell Hardness Rating (HRC/HR) is used to determine the quality of scissor

steel;

The higher the rating, the better the quality your shears are;

HRC 50-55

Weaker blades with lower quality

HRC 55-57

Entry level blade for hair cutting

HRC 57-59

Mid level blade for hair cutting; sharper, more durable and more

resistant to rust versus lower HRC levels

HRC 58-60

High-quality, mid to high level blade. Tough, durable and easy to

sharpen;

HRC 60 to 62

High quality cutting tool. Premium shears will be at this level.

Tough, durable, easy to sharpen

HRC 61 to 64

The highest quality cutting blade found only in the finest shears

Ranking of Metals Commonly used in shear manufacturing:

1 SG2

A more complex steel that is more dense, stronger

HRC 63-64

but at the same time lighter than other steels.

2 ATS-314

Pure Japanese steel with high levels of Cobalt

HRC 61-63

and Titanium

3 VG-10

Pure Japanese Steel

HRC 60-61

4 440C

Very popular metal used for shears

HRC 58

5 440A

Basic glades made of standard stainless steel

HRC 56

6 420

Thriftier steel used for simple scissors and knives

HRC 50-52

Why is better steel important?

Better steel is crucial because it ensures a stronger, more durable edge that extends

the lifespan of the shears, allowing them to maintain peak performance for longer.

This advanced material offers superior resistance to rust and corrosion, keeping

your tools looking and working like new. Enhanced ergonomics further contribute

to a more comfortable experience, reducing fatigue and alleviating pressure on your

hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Most importantly, high-quality steel enables you

to showcase your true talent by facilitating more precise and sophisticated cutting

techniques, elevating your craft to new heights.

THE KASHO DIFFERENCE

Introduce yourself to the beauty of KASHO professional hair shears

with these do-it-all Balanced Precision shears. Like the name says,

these shears are perfectly balanced so they’re easy to handle and

give you ideal control of each cut.

The semi-convex blade provides a highly precise cut and ensures a

durable edge. The offset handle is extra comfortable, even on a day
